Welcome to Steer Clear Driver’s Ed!
Instead of clutching your pearls while you or your new driver takes the wheel for the first time, let us do it for you.
Inspected and licensed by the TN Department of Safety, we will guide new drivers - teaching them the rules of the road. Steer Clear is the only driving school in the Tri-cities area, and we’re here to help promote confidence, courtesy, and control on the road.
Steer Clear also offers an 8-hour defensive driving course designed to promote safer driving habits and meet legal requirements for points reduction of certain traffic violations.
All eligible Tennessee drivers deserve the opportunity to be the safe, courteous drivers we know they can be.

A full six week course consisting of 30 in-class hours of instruction and 6 hours of behind the wheel instruction in one of our fully insured, dual-brake equipped vehicles with a licensed and certified instructor.
No permit required to enroll!

In addition the the Standard Course, one-on-one drives may be purchased for students who may be neurodiverse, struggle with social anxiety, or have special needs that would best be accommodated in this setting.
Any student electing Individual Drives as an add-on to their course is required to currently be enrolled in or have recently, successfully completed a Standard Course.
Each student is required to complete 30 hours of in-class instruction and 6 hours of drive time in order to be issued a certificate of completion.
Individual Drives cannot be purchased as a stand-alone product.

An 8-hour in-person class that fulfills the legal requirements outlined by most courts for drivers who have received a traffic violation. Specifically, this course meets the court-mandated minimum of 8 hours of in-person instruction, as often required for point reduction, ticket dismissal, or compliance with a court order.
